Hi there Margaret
Firstly there is a very wide range of both software and hardware that
will help your student access this course work.
With out knowing what basic equipment is available to her,it is
difficult to advise exactly which combination would be best.
For starters I suggest that you get a copy of:
Window concepts: an introductory guide for visually disabled
users.

Braille/floppy/tape.
This is an invaluable guide and tutorial for biginner and
established blind window users.
AS far as the equipment is concerned, the RNIB, Employment
Development and Technology Unit produce a comprehensive range of
factsheets which discuss not only the various types of equipment but
also give the names of suppliers and trainers.
RNIB 224 Great Portland Street London W1N 6AA Tel: 0171 388 1266 and
it is also worthwhile haveing a chat to their Education support
officer.
Have Fun!!
Alan.
