We use a contact management database called Maximizer. It is
available for Windows 3.x and 95. It is very flexible and powerful,
and will permit the linking of documents. It includes the following
features:
phone dialling;
faxing;
hot lists;
appointments;
notes;
jurnal;
file sharing and
other stuff.
For example, we can bring up a students details by enrolment
number, name, course or disability. We then have access to their
full details, any notes we have made, details of incoming and
outgoing phone calls, and any documents that we have created
that are associated with them.
The only drawback with the package is that
some of the pre-named functions relate to a marketing environment.
For example lists are made under the headings of clients and
contacts, but if you can live with this terminology it is a great
application.
