Regarding video materials to raise awareness of hearing impairment -
perhaps the following might be of interest. The "Sympathetic Hearing
Scheme" scheme, which is now quite a few years old has a number of
people with direct experience of varying degrees of hearing loss
speaking about how they deal with this. In addition, there are a
number of quite good role play scenarios where people who are hearing
impaired try to communicate with others - with a variety of positive
and also negative responses. The "Sympathetic Hearing Scheme" was
the result of a collaborative exercise between a number of agencies
committed to furthering opportunities for hearing impaired people.

Hope this is helpful. Best wishes!

I recently attended a BSL course at the Mary Cross Trust in Preston.
On the first day we were shown a video which illustrated how people
who wear hearing aids hear, and how the sound is distorted. It
featured a man finding it difficult to hear conversations around a
dinner table, and a scene where he was talking to his wife in bed. I
would like to get a copy of this video, but have no idea of its
title, the production company, etc. Does anybody know the video I
mean and can you tell me where I can buy it - something similar.
