Hi
I am looking into the position where the UK leaves the EU on a No Deal basis but we, as a controller, use a processor within the EU. From what I can see, the UK position would not really change but I was wondering about the transfer of the personal data being processed in the EU. I am unconvinced that the GDPR would apply as such as the personal data does not relate to people from the EU or monitor the behaviour of any one visiting the EU. If that is correct, does that mean the GDPR does not apply to the processor within the EU? Does this mean that there is no "international transfer" of personal data covered by the GDPR from the point of view of the processor?
I am mindful of the geographical restrictions as a result of the recent Google decision and wonder whether the GDPR is also restricted by location of the data subject and so not apply to where the data subject and controller are not in the in the EU but the processor is.
Bill
