Hi All
Just for fun, an article that's perhaps not an obvious DPA-centric look at biometrics, but which could be taken to look at the issue from a broader 'rights and freedoms' perspective - namely the freedom not to catch horrible lurgies from thumb-print pads at work?

(Happily) I don’t have experience of that, but would love to see your Article 9 condition!

Subject: [data-protection] Biometrics (fingerprint)
Anyone got any info/experience about introducing fingerprint recording systems for staff time recording etc. Currently in use are RFI badges (radio frequency identification) but there is an isolated groundswell to move towards a biometric fingerprint system which I am nervous about due to the suspected motive. A DPIA is being developed which will no doubt raise any number of issues regarding staff rights and freedoms. If anyone has any advice/pointers I'd be very grateful.
