Here goes: our students and staff are allocated 'home' folders for storage on our network. These folders are not routinely inspected, and so could potentially contain PII, illegal data, copyright infringements etc. When they leave their access is cut, but the folders are backed up for 90 days. Student folders are then deleted. Staff folders are also backed up for 90 days, but line managers are given access to the folder for an extended period, or indeed can have it copied into their own 'home' folder. All this makes me a little uneasy! Any thoughts appreciated. (We are an FE college)
