Hi,
A colleague has raised a question. They are in the process of buying a house. All the documents are loaded up to an online portal. One of the documents is nothing to do with this conveyancing, it is an earlier attempt by someone else to buy the property.
I have suggested that i) they delete this immediately and ii) inform the solicitor immediately.
They raised the question as to whether they should contact the person - whose name was clearly visible when they first opened the document thinking it was for them - on the basis of 'being helpful'.
I suggest that it is the duty of the solicitor to inform that person.
thoughts?
thanks + rgds
Danny
