Hi all,
I recently received an email which said something along the lines of 'To ensure GDPR compliance please click this link to confirm you still want to receive emails from xxx'.
I am sure I am not the only person who cannot remember all of the mailing lists I have subscribed to over the years, but I am fairly sure this was a scam. A very good way for someone to introduce malware or virus to a PC.
Part of my role is information security training so I am considering saying to people at work that if they are unsure about a 'GDPR compliance' email, then don't click on any links. If they think it is from the BBC or Sainsbury's or who ever, but are not sure, then they would be better off re-subscribing at those companies websites.
Has anyone else experienced anything similar, and do you have any advice you are giving to staff or customers?
thanks + rgds
Danny
