NICS has a information portal, this pushes information to NI Public about all Government services in NI and also offers a range of online services.
There is also a feedback email address on that and the below query is in relation to that.
Occasionally we get a customer contacting us threatening suicide if they can't get a particular benefit. In these extreme circumstances, do you think we would be justified passing on their details to the relevant department and asking them to contact the customer directly without the explicit consent of the customer?
It seems the only alternative would be for us to go back to the customer asking for their consent before we pass to the relevant office which to my mind is potentially dangerous, delaying us getting help to a desperate person.
we don't think we can use vital interests, so are thinking legitimate interest, or is there some other legislation that would supersede GDPR
is this something anyone else has come across or considered and how would you approach it?
Thanks in advance.
Stephen
