Hi there,
At present our Office 365 "Data location" is "Europe" however I have an option for moving our data into the "United Kingdom" region:
"Data residency option
This option is available until Sep 15, 2017 and is provided to accommodate organizations that have strict data residency requirements and require their core customer data to be stored at rest in the United Kingdom datacenter region.
By choosing to move your data, you will limit Microsoft's possibilities to optimize your service.
Data moves will complete within 24 months after the end of the enrollment period on Sep 15, 2017."
Thinking about GDPR, Brexit and the future ... I'm thinking about locating my data within the UK rather than allowing it to be spread around the rest of Europe.
Has anyone been thinking about the location of Office365 data and what would is your rationale for either taking or leaving the option to move to the UK Region?
Thank you,
Jon
