Certainly nothing wrong with searching for initials but "as a matter of course"?
If I sent a vanilla SAR to my local authority would I expect them to do a full search of their email (and other) systems for every document which contains the initials PB. That does not seem necessary or proportionate to me given that (a) there are probably many PBs and (b) even if my initials appear somewhere, it will not always be personal data.
