We often have discussions that are potentially sector-specific, but which
then raise points that are interesting (and sometimes even useful) to people
in different sectors. The issues in HE surely can't be that different from
the issues in other sectors, especially at this stage when we haven't even
started to get general guidance on the details of GDPR, let alone anything
specific, from the ICO.
So my vote would be to keep GDPR in this list, and to encourage people to
raise any question they have, without being concerned that it might be too
narrow to interest everyone.
Best wishes,
Paul

Simon/others
I'm trying to work out whether what will work best is
a) carry on general GDPR discussions on this list?
b) set up a separate GDPR general list?
c) set up a GDPR for HE/FE list?
My inclination tends to be to only create new, focussed, lists when
discussion on a general list has reached sufficient volume that it becomes
annoying to the members who *aren't* interested. But if others think GDPR is
likely to be one of those topics then I'm happy to have a chat to Jiscmail
about setting up either (b) or (c) either now or later. Any votes in favour
of either of those?
Cheers
Andrew
