Hi Mike
My initial reaction is no, probably not - at least not without proper reason.
Not really a data sharing issue, as you are one controller, but is fair processing issue and we need to consider the minimisation and need to know principles inherent in DPP 1, 2 & 3. Suppose complaint was about X and your SAR disclosure included a lot of sensitive PD about Y which was irrelevant to the complaint?
I think the team should be saying what the issue is and asking what personal data is held which may be relevant. Disclosure to the subject last week, last month, or last year seems irrelevant unless we are in cover up country (e.g. there is something damaging which they are hoping complainant has not seen!) but let's not go there.
If you are advising on data protection they should tell you what the complaint is. Need to know again but this time YOU do need to know to assess fairness and reasonableness.
Also is subject an employee? That may be relevant to reasonable expectations.
