I am pleased to announce that Victor Santiago Pineda (http://vpineda.com/cv/) will present the 2016 Ken Campbell Lecture on Disability Policy at the Ohio State University's Multiple Perspectives Conference on April 13 & 14. Based on his international research, travels and upcoming book, Inclusive Cities: Governance and the Transformation of Disability Rights. Pineda's topic honors Campbell's work guiding the City of Columbus' disability policies for over twenty years and his lifetime advocacy for inclusion. A highlight of the Multiple Perspectives conference, this public lecture was established by the Columbus Advisory Committee on Disability Issues after Campbell's death in 2007.

Victor Santiago Pineda, Ph.D.
Dr. Victor Santiago Pineda of Berkeley, California is President of the World Enabled, an educational non-profit organization that promotes the rights and dignities of persons with disabilities, and the Pineda Foundation, positions he has held since founding the organizations in 2003. In 2012, he served as the Chancellor's Post-Doctoral Fellow for Academic Diversity and as an Adjunct Professor in City and Regional Planning at the University of California (UC), Berkeley. Dr. Pineda was a Senior Research Fellow at the World Institute on Disability in 2011. As a policy consultant, he has advised international agencies such as the World Bank and United Nations, as well as state and federal governments, in the development and implementation of programs and policies that include people with disabilities. Dr. Pineda holds a Ph.D. in Urban Planning from the Luskin School for Public Affairs at University of California at Los Angeles. At UC Berkeley, he earned a Master's degree in City and Regional Planning and bachelor's degrees in Political Economy (BA) and Business Administration (BS).

July, 2015, was the 25th anniversary of the Americans With Disabilities Act; November, 2015, marked the 20th Anniversary of the Disability Discrimination Act in Britain; and December, 2016, will be the 10th anniversary of the U.N. Convention on the Rights of People with Disabilities. The 2016 Multiple Perspectives Conference is an ongoing exploration of disability that includes many voices and perspectives gained through experience and research; theory and practice; arts and sciences.
