You are correct. End of argument.
There have been cases where ICO has found breach by exessive disclosure under Court Orders and extracted undertakings (but not currently to be found on his website as was several years ago) but if you are complying with an unambigous order - no issue.
If the order was to be limited as they suggest it should have been worded differently.
It is not clear from your post how the order arose or on whose behalf they are getting shirty but it does raise the possiblity that the 'fault' was theirs in the first place by not limiting the disclosures they required !
I would politely indicate that I had complied with the order as served, remind them that the documents may only be used for the purpose of the proceedings in which they were served, and decline to enter into further discussions. If they are not happy they should apply to the Court.
Of course if the particular documents they are concerned about do NOT contain data which 'relates to' (dare I mention Durant) the person named in the Order you may be in more trouble ...
Interestingly such orders should always require you, when making disclosure, to specify any of those documents –
in respect of which you claim a right or duty to withhold inspection. Did yours do that ?
