This is an opportunity to join an enthusiastic and developing Disability service working with a wide range of students studying in the field of theatre and dramatic arts. The service has an excellent reputation amongst both staff and students alike and is seeking an individual to join the team in an interim basis.
In this challenging and rewarding role, you will have the opportunity to use your skills and experience to participate in our approach to all practical and strategic issues relating to disability. You will need to be cognoscente of current practice, policy and thinking within the sector as a whole and be able to work autonomously and as part of a team within a Higher Education disability service. This role gives a great deal of freedom to work creatively and independently and in return expects a high level of enthusiasm and commitment, along with expertise and experience in the area of disability support.
Candidates will need to demonstrate that they have experience of working with people with disabilities. An extensive knowledge of the Equality Act is essential as is an understanding of the Higher Education sector and funding routes such as the Disabled Students Allowance. Your professional experience should be matched by personal qualities of empathy, integrity, patience and sensitivity. You must be able to communicate clearly and effectively with a wide range of different stakeholders, both internally and externally.
