A pay band for a job may be disclosed (e.g. £25k to £35k); however, an individuals point (personal grade) on that band is considered personal data.

Hmm not all would be advertised with the post. As I said earlier quite a lot are personal grades and if readvertised the same salary scale would not apply.

There's plenty of cases to indicate that salary scales are not personal information since they would normally be consider part of the post and be advertised with the post. Individuals' placings on the scales would be personal information.

Very small authority receives request for salary scales for every post within the authority. Some salary scales are personal grades i.e. due to length of service. Individuals can be identified from job titles.
