Hello,
We would like to invite you to 'Disability Film in focus', on 1st September at the BFI, Southbank (at NFT2) as part of Liberty 2012 festival (London, UK)! There will be two exciting 90-minute shorts sessions, in partnership with the Mayor of London's Liberty Festival and the BFI, and two great feature films, in partnership with the BFI, promise to offer you an inspiring and unforgettable cinema experience. Go to this link for more details: http://www.filmpro.net/disability-film-in-focus
More importantly, we would like to ask you to come along and experience audio description (AD) for non-English films, as the screenings include work from Deaf and Disabled filmmakers across the globe. This will be a rare opportunity for blind and visually impaired audiences to access non-English language films, as they are seldom audio described.
AD coordinator and writer Michael Achtman, after consulting with VI cinemagoers, will be using two voices for each of these descriptions, one to describe the action and the other to voice over the dialogue.
So, come experience audio description of non-English language films - we welcome your feedback!
Visit this link for more details on the non-English films that will be audio described. Feel free to spread the word too!
