We have had a small number of these students over past years and the institution has paid for their assessment and related NMH support
Hope this helps

Subject: Isle of Man Students ineligible for DSA
Dear Colleagues
We have been informed that one of our Disabled applicants will not be eligible for DSA. The student is resident in Isle of Man and his parental income has been assessed in relation to funding.
A DSA award can be made only if the student is eligible for a maintenance grant, parental income in this case does not meet the criteria for an award therefore he will have no funding for NMH or equipment.
Has anyone encountered this before? I believe that there has been some correspondence on NADP recently but I am unable to access this. Please feel free to reply on or off list - if you have supported students in this situation, how did you manage the funding and did the institution pay for the needs assessment and all of the support and equipment required?
I'm aware that the IOM has no real Equality Legislation or Disability Discrimination Law.
Any advice or shared experiences would be really helpful.
Best regards
Jayne
