Very personal view alert....
This strikes me as a non-issue and the only thing worth commenting on is the council's (correct) decision to reverse their censorship.
It's just a blog, like thousands of others out there. It happens to be a young girl taking pictures of her school meals. If the council believes she is misrepresenting the meals, then they have the wherewithal to produce something that puts the other side of the argument. My experience of primary school meals (via my Son) is one of agreement that they are, on the whole, awful. If she has upset school staff (which I doubt), then maybe they could start a counter blog? Or alternatively, judging by the meals I have seen, think about how they can improve what they provide to the children? Either way, this is not a privacy issue particularly unless you fear for the privacy of the kitchen staff?
Good for her standing up and being counted. Yes, she has lost some of her privacy, but is this necessarily a bad thing in this instance?
Personally, if she were my daughter I would be immensely proud. We must question, provoke and encourage public sector organisations to be better. This girl has just started a little earlier than some - and raised a considerable amount of money to boot!
Simon Howarth.
