Hi,

Our accommodation services at The University of Birmingham are happy to
provide a fridge on request from student or disability services for halls.
In fact I get the impression they prefer students to have
accommodation-supplied fridges than fridges from any other source. I
usually tell students they need to let me or housing know if the fridge is
not their when they arrive as this does occasionally happen and we can't
fix that if we don't know about it.
I have seen a handful of students go through DSA or bring their own which
can be useful for students who intend to go into private accommodation
after their first year. Our halls are OK with this as long as it's either
brand new or the student is willing for it to be PAT tested. I need to
check with them whether the university charge for PAT testing as I'd want
that charge waived for disability related electronic items.
