Hi Jane,
I would say that parking fines come under the assessment or collection
of tax or duty or any imposition of a similar nature. I put our parking
CCTV under Crime Prevention and Prosecution of Offenders and just
describe it as that - for parking offences.
Re body cameras for protection - well attacking someone is a crime !
Thanks

Subject: [data-protection] Relevant Purpose?
Hello
I'm reviewing our DP Notification and I'm having a bit of a "Friday
Quandary"!
Am I right in saying that the operation of CCTV cameras, including body
worn cameras, should come under Crime Prevention and Prosecution of
Offenders and that the images captured can only be used for that purpose
and not say evidence of parking infringement (which is civil not
criminal).
What if the body worn cameras are for staff safety - does this fall
within the scope of this purpose (Crime Prevention and Prosecution of
Offenders)? If not what is the relevant purpose?
I've tied myself in knots with this one.
Any clarification appreciated.
