Confusion arises; Having visited the Leveson Inquiry web-site (http://www.levesoninquiry.org.uk/
for the first time today I was bemused to notice no link to a Privacy
Policy, nor could I find one by searching the site URL.
Reading the
Copyright and Terms and Conditions revealed a great deal of the usual
protectionist jargon but no mention of visitors Privacy in any way,
although there was a clear statement the site was "governed by and
construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales. Any dispute
arising under these Terms and Conditions shall be subject to the
exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales."
So to the
root of my confusion, Is it a legal requirement for a Privacy Policy to
be made available on web-sites published in England and Wales, or has
that now gone by the board?
