Didn't the HMRC breach in 2007 had to pay /offered £20-£30 pound "compensation payment" per record lost!!?? - cant remember the exact details but you may want to search the web for the exact details - obviously not an order given by the court but similar to what you are asking.
Many thanks

Subject: successful legal cases against authorities for data breach
Dear All,
I am trying to find examples where an individual successfully sued an authority (public or private) for disclosing information or a data breach. One that comes to mind is a case involving Basildon. http://councilmaladministration.com/travellers-win-high-court-battle-over-council-compensation
However, that was more about the failure to pay compensation after the ombudsman declared it rather than a separate legal case.
The slough case involved data protection, but the court case was brought on the Human Rights Act rather than on DPA.
If anyone knows of a case, please let me know as I am interested to know if the ICO's guidance on bringing a case to court is successful

Thanks
Lawrence
