Hello Sarah,
I found the ICO's Data Sharing Code of Practice to be very useful indeed when I was producing guidance in a previous job.

For a more advanced view, you could try:
http://www.amazon.co.uk/Information-Sharing-Handbook-Claire-Bessant/dp/1853285897
This was produced by Northumbria University's Information Rights team, and I've been told it's very good, although I haven't yet bought it myself.
Regards,

Subject: [data-protection] Information Sharing advice
Dear all,
Can anyone recommend a text or resource that would help with
understanding the basics of information sharing? Also is there a text
that anyone would recommend for someone with a need for a more advanced
understanding of sharing?
Thanks
Sarah.
Sarah Priestley.
