Disability Artists Training Creative Enablers
Call for applications: 10 Creative Enablers & 10 Disabled Artists
A unique opportunity for ten people in and around the borough of Hackney to train as Creative Enabler and work closely with ten disabled artists.
The project will provide a specially tailored series of workshops, and a guided placement with a disabled artist and an arts organisation, between late August and December 2011.
DATCE a creative triangle that will benefit all;
● the trainees by equipping them to gain experience as Creative Enabler and enhance their career potential;
● the artists by offering support to help develop or deliver a project;
● the local arts sector by providing access to training and experience of working with disabled artists, plus a wider legacy through case studies and online toolkits.
Who’s the opportunity for?
● Personal assistants and support workers with an interest in the arts, who would like to have a more hands on and creative role in facilitating arts work
● Disabled or non-disabled creative practitioners who like working closely with other creatives, and would like to support disabled artists, learn new skills and gain a new income stream
● Disabled artists who would benefit from 20 days of support from a Trainee Creative Enabler at the start or in the middle of their project
You must either live or work regularly in Hackney or surrounding boroughs (Tower Hamlets, Newham, Waltham Forest, Haringey, City, Islington).
