Hi All,
Just wonder if any of you can offer advice on the following situations:
1) We have an incoming student who has epilepsy, which is not controlled, so she needs an epilepsy alarm (nocturnal convulsive seizure monitor) which will alert someone should she have a fit. Apparently this needs to go through to someone with first aid training. Unfortunately as a small HE college we don't have our own accommodation and use that of another Uni. There is a possibility that their student ambassador type people who are first aid trained and on campus may be able to cover it but apart from the fact that this is quite a responsibility what happens if they are off campus and we are not sure about the legal obligations of all this. Has anyone else had any experience in this area?
2) We have a student who uses a mobility scooter. Where do students usually store these in student accommodation as there are issues will blocking public halls etc and the rooms are usually very small,
Many Thanks,
Ros Platton
