We require them to provide a Section 29 form.
Section 19 gives a constable who is lawfully on any premises broad powers to seize anything he has reasonable ground to believe has been obtained in consequence of the commission of an offence or is evidence in relation to an offence being investigated.
Suppose its "evidence". Never had them try that here.

Subject: [data-protection] CCTV: s.29 or PACE?
Hi all
An issue has arisen recently regarding the release/viewing of CCTV by police. We have always required a DPA section 29 form in such cases but it has been asserted that a s.29 form is not required as the footage could be seized as evidence under s.19 of PACE.
I'm not overly familiar with PACE but have others heard of this in relation to CCTV footage?
Thanks
Matt Morrison
