One for my LA colleagues.
It seems to have been (more or less - see this thread from 2002 https://www.jiscmail.ac.uk/cgi-bin/webadmin?A2=ind02&L=DATA-PROTECTION&D=0&1=DATA-PROTECTION&9=A&J=on&X=654314295F3B302027&Y=pbradshaw%40cardiff.gov.uk&d=No+Match%3BMatch%3BMatches&z=4&P=630290 ) accepted that YOTs are data controllers in their own right. Many are registered as such.
In most if not all cases the data and work of the YOT will be hosted on Council systems. Surely this means Councils are therefore data processors for the YOT. Has anyone got the required contractual agreement in place - principle 7 ? If so can someone send me a copy as it is perhaps about time we had one.
While I'm on the topic, do any LEA's out there have formal data processing agreements with their schools. If not, why not ? Am I missing something ?
