Subject: RE: Flagging system for conditions other than dyslexia
Dear all
We have a flagging system for submission of assessments, using red dots to indicate that a student has dyslexia.
We are not asking for marking concessions, but flagging up that a student has dyslexia so that they are not actively penalised for grammatical and spelling errors and receive constructive, categorical feedback, in order to help them to develop their academic writing.
I would like to know whether or not other institutions have a flagging system for Deaf students, for whom English isn't their first language, or for other conditions such as brain injury, which may affect cognitive processes.
thanks
