Corrected version containing the N.B. text.
I have today (just now)
read an article I had intended to read some time ago, which I believe
is relevant and pertinent, as it seems, to me, to effectively
illustrate different perspectives and interpretations. Whilst it very
early on inherently declares a political philosophy bias (Short
communications open to interpretation, rather than longer ones
attempting to provide sufficient detail to accurately inform
interpretation of communication.) it does seem particularly relevant to
the thread discussion. (Or is that merely me being defensive of my
style?)
Whilst the paper is an academic philosophical one written in
2007 it does, in written form, wrestle with many of the issues DP also
seems to continually struggle with (as in this thread) and is directly
useful in the context of Computer Mediated Communications, and hence
list discussions.
I therefore provide a link for any who may be
interested.

N.B. I have not researched the academic credentials of the
author or credibility of the document. I am merely recommending it in
the context of the implications of the different cultural perspectives
it illuminates, many of which I think can be transferred to more
generic sectorial boundary issues.
