There's guidance for JANET sites in my Technical Guide on logfiles [1]. As a private network JANET isn't covered by the Data Retention Regulations, so we recommend following the LINX guidance (3-6 months). I'm not aware of any statutory requirements that might apply to organisations (as opposed to networks) but would be interested to hear if anyone has come across any.
