It was acquiring SSIDs which are impervious to encryption. Not sure why
knowing the SSID (which you are broadcasting all the time) is a problem.
You'd have to be very unlucky for the data being *transferred over* your
network for the few milliseconds the car happened to be passing and
logged in, to be of any serious consequence.
Meanwhile, with the photos, I was caught on the hop once when someone
started discussing the merits of my model of cameraphone after I posted
a picture online. And being able to see the exact time/date the photo
was taken (assuming the camera's clock is correct) could place one at a
scene of embarrassment, if not a crime.
