Hi,
We have a year 1 Social Work student with mental health issues who is about to start a 30 day placement. She has been recommended mentoring as part of her DSA support arrangements however at present all of our mentors work solely on University premises and so would not be able to visit the student either at their placement or home and the student wouldn't have time to come in and meet the mentor on campus.
So my question is do any of you have a precedent for for providing mentoring via email / telephone and if so how did this work, what different steps did you take than if it were face-to-face and were you able to have it funded from the students DSA just as if it were face-to-face?
Many thanks,
Phil
