Disability Adviser (Part-time)
Salary: £27,319 - £35, 646 pa, pro rata (0.5 or 0.6 FTE)
The University of Cambridge is seeking a Disability Adviser to work as part
of the Disability Resource Centre team providing specialist advice,
guidance and support to students with disabilities and prospective
students.
The post-holder will work alongside another part-time Disability Adviser to
provide support for all students disclosing a disability, other than those
students with Specific Learning Difficulties. A dedicated specialist
Disability Adviser works with all students with Specific Learning
Difficulties.
You will be qualified at degree level and a post-graduate qualification in
disabilities would be desirable. You should have at least two years recent
experience advising disabled students in a higher education setting. You
will also have an understanding of a range of disabilities, with up-to-date
knowledge of the Disability Discrimination Act and its implications for
students in higher education.
You will need excellent verbal and written communication skills, and be
able to work with people from a wide variety of backgrounds, experiences
and expectations, demonstrating a commitment to equality of opportunity.
