Could anybody give examples of adjustments made for students with
irritable bowel syndrome in written exams?
The student asked for extra time and rest breaks (extra time so that his
anxiety levels would be reduced, and thus he would become less
symptomatic).
Our exam panel were not comfortable with this as they felt that both
adjustments together, (or indeed the idea of extra time at all) would
place him at an unfair advantage.
They have agreed on rest breaks for this student, and are very flexible
with timings, but the student is much more concerned that he receives
extra time.
Has anybody dealt with something like this before?
Thanks,
