From the records management list
The Cabinet Office yesterday launched the Protecting Information in Government report (http://www.cabinetoffice.gov.uk/media/328380/protecting-information.pdf) It has a foreword from the Commissioner
It details the progress that has been made since the publication of the Data Handling Review, which put in place a set of mandatory measures for protecting personal data, and highlights future challenges.
It will be covered in our HMG Security Course in London (feb 23rd) that I do with Mark Brett who authored the ALA's Local Government Data Handling document. Details from http://www.amberhawk.com/brochures.asp ("security" brochure).
