It seems that the data wasn't obtained direct from the DVLA, but through
a third party. What has gone wrong is that second transfer.
But DVLA data is everywhere - there's even a site that'll estimate the
value of a car from the numberplate. Perfect to unmask people who use a
personal plate to disguise the age of their vehicle!
