Hi Helen
I will be very interested to know if anyone is aware of an accessibility
checker for Word/PDFs apart from the fact that
Acrobat has its own in-built checker.
With regard to docx: Even though you are offering PDF format as well as Word
documents perhaps you should consider converting them to Word 97-2003 docs
before uploading them otherwise I feel you would need to include a link to
the free converter for Office 2003 users (Microsoft Office Compatibility
Pack for Word, Excel, and PowerPoint 2007 File Formats). The user will also
need to install all the high-priority updates before downloading the
converter - probably too much for the average user to contemplate.
What do others feel about docx being uploaded?
Penny

In the main they will be word (docx) and PDF.
We have some existing documents that I'd like to check and modify if need
be, though I know how to create documents from scratch that are accessible.
Many thanks for your replies!
Helen

Hi Helen
What sort of documents... Word/PDFs? Content in a web page?

Subject: Accessibility Checker
Hi
I am looking to put some case studies and other documentation online.
However, before I do this, I want to make sure that the documents are
accessible. Does anyone know of an accessibility checker that I could use?
Many thanks in advance
Helen
