De Montfort University's Centre for Computing and Social Responsibility
(CCSR), as part of the Department of Informatics, is offering the position
of a Lecturer / Senior Lecturer to contribute to teaching and research.
The CCSR is the UK's leading research centre in computer ethics and among
the leading ones in Europe and the world. The Centre organises the ETHICOMP
conference series and edits two international journals, the Elsevier Journal
Information, Communication, Ethics and Society and the International Journal
of Technology and Human Interaction. It is involved in several high profile
international research projects.
The individual appointed will have responsibility for:
• teaching modules at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels
related to CCSR;
• contributing to the development of the curriculum at all
levels;
• supervising research students;
• and engaging with the research activities of CCSR.
The successful candidate will be a member of the Centre for Computing and
Social Responsibility (http://www.ccsr.cse.dmu.ac.uk/) and will be
integrated in the research and teaching of the group. She or he should have
a postgraduate qualification, ideally a PhD, in a computing or ICT-related
subject or in philosophy and a demonstrable interest and publication record
in the relationship of ICT and ethics.
