I'm a postgrad but as I'm applying for a DSA for my writing up year
I've been told I count as a new student and have to apply under the
new rules. Up until now I've had a DSA from ESRC but will now be
going through SFE. I'm also starting a job as a disability adviser in
a few months so need to get my head around all this!
Thanks,
Emma

> We should probably be asking SFE for there answer but as I've read and discussed this issue I'd say that the 2 quotes have to be from separate agencies (or from an individual provided that that individual is a freelance support worker - so you could have 2 quotes from 2 different BSL interpreters but not from 2 PG students who would be employed via the University). If the quote from the agency was selected then the external agency would mange the payments. As a student you would presumably provide the agency with your timetable and they would arrange the support worker.

Does this mean they will also need to obtain a comparable quote from an agency or from different pg students? If so, will potential payments to agency workers still be managed by the university or will students need to arrange this themselves? I'm in the process of arranging my new DSA for next year and am trying to get my head around this!
