The Disability Resource Centre invites applications for a full-time
Asperger Project Officer for a one-year contract in the first instance.
Funded by the Baily Thomas Charitable Fund, the Asperger Project Officer
will be based at the Disability Resource Centre.
The post involves tracking students with Asperger Syndrome in Cambridge
University to establish their special needs, and setting up practical
support for them.
The role-holder will have an up-to-date and comprehensive knowledge of
legislation and debate in relation to disability in general and Asperger
Syndrome specifically. Excellent oral and written communication skills are
required. Previous experience of working with students with Asperger
Syndrome in a Higher Education setting would be desirable. Discretion is
very important as the information handled by the role-holder is of a highly
confidential and sensitive nature.
The closing date is 1 May 2009. Interviews will be held in the week
beginning the 11 May 2009.
