There was an accidental posting of a personal email to the dis-forum
list earlier this week. The sender requested the removal of the
postings.
There have been further requests to remove related emails, direct to
JISCmail. Below is part of the email I have received from JISCmail:
"Please would you now send an email to the list reminding members of the
need
for discretion and directing them to the JISCmail Acceptable Use Policy
at
http://www.jiscmail.ac.uk/help/policy/index.htm and Guidelines on
Etiquette at
http://www.jiscmail.ac.uk/help/policy/etiquette.htm
It may also be worth considering having the 'Reply-To' option changed so
that
replies go to the original sender and not to the whole list."
Since its creation on Mailbase in the mid-90s, dis-forum has always used
reply-to-list as the default. The intention was to encourage discussion.
However, I have now changed the default reply option to
'reply-to-sender', as suggested.
Be aware that you will now have to enter the dis-forum email address in
the TO: field on your email package if you wish your reply to go to the
list.
