dear colleagues
apologies if this is of no interest/relevance
also apologies for any cross-posting
I appreciate you are all busy but have a quick request from another
disability/WP colleague. our HE partners are asking how many schools
and colleges arrange support for their own students attending
Aimhigher and WP events and how many HEIs arrange and pay for
individual participant's disability support.
they are trying their best to be as inclusive as possible on taster
days/open days, that sort of thing. however, when costings were done
to supply 2 interpreters for any deaf visitors, the total was about
£5000 per year. as you can imagine, this would take a huge wedge out
of their budget and they are in a quandary as to what to do for the best
email on or off list, depending on what you prefer.
lovely to see some of you in nottingham last week
many thanks in anticipation
melanie
