Some of the major health bodies have issued guidance, which may be
available via your institution (e.g. the CSP's
http://www.csp.org.uk/director/libraryandpublications/publications.cfm?item_id=74C87384B852B05511E51BEF8940723E
).
Generally this would be covered under the institution's fitness to
practice/placement policies, rather than assuming disclosure...surely
that sets a dangerous precedent?
Also, some issues may not have an impact academically, but do on
placement, and vice versa (hence the general need for a separate
fitness policy) - all students who have a condition that may affect
their fitness to be on placement should have been seen by occupational
health prior to starting, who should suggest strategies.
