Hi, Pauline
Ebrary books typically uses a special locked down version of PDF's. Some of the texts are pictures of books and have no text content, and some have text content. In any case texthelp will not read them as your would expect.
Options
0) Get your library to make accessible versions !!! (option zero as it is unlikely to happen)
1)Select the text (if you can) and paste it into a word document, then get texthelp to read it (usually limited to about 10 pages due to copyright enforcement).
2)In texthelp version 8.1 there is a screen grab option in which a picture is taken of the screen and texthelp OCR's (optical character recognition) the image similar to scanning a book.
the solutions are not ideal but can work

Dear All,
I wonder if anyone can help me with this?
Our library is getting a lot of electronic books through ebrary at the moment and are really encouraging students to use this format. Unfortunately, the software that ebrary seems to have is clashing with the TextHELP which several of our students to read text aloud to them.
Has anyone else come across this and does anyone know how to solve it?
Or, is there another piece of software that does work with Ebrary books that will allow the book to be read out loud.
I look forward to hearing from you.
Kind regards
Pauline McInnes
