Hi Arnold,
The dimensions vary greatly as they are increasingly custom built for the individual,
there are always scooter users to consider as well. You would be better off using the
Building regulations. As far as I know Part M of the building regulations currently
stipulates a door width of 1000mm for an external door but my knowledge is a little out of
date so it is worth checking this with your estates department. BS8300 is also a useful
guidance document when considering access. There is also another jisc list ACCESSIBUILT,
the members of which I am sure would be able to assist with your query.
All the best,
Anna

At Leeds Met a number of new buildings are in progress and each building
has a Help Zone which is a general enquiry point/front of house for the
University. I have been asked if I can advise the dimensions of the
smallest to the largest wheelchairs so that the design of these Help
Zones can meet the needs of all our wheelchair users.
Can anyone point me in the right direction to obtain this information
for our Estate Services Department please?
