Privacy is usually protected via the common law right to confidence or
article 8 of the ECHR (right to respect for a private life - a much
wider definition than that of protecting information)
My point? (perhaps semantic) is that a confidentiality, rather than a
privacy, policy may make more sense within the context of the law as it
currently stands. (where there is no specific 'privacy' law to which any
such policy might refer - at least in E&Wales)
