Hi Brenda
I have just had a similar one. Social Work client - friend attended (in
her house) and asked the two social workers attending if it was OK to
record the meeting - Social Workers said it was OK. Anyway an issue
occurred in Court and the lady popped up and said what the lawyer said
on behalf of the Soc Workers was not true - waving tapes to the Court
saying that she had it on tape. Tapes have not been lodged but Social
Workers not happy as they did not give consent on each occasion they
visited the house.
However, I am of the view that there is nothing they can do as this is
for domestic purposes and it is the same as someone taking notes at a
meeting and they are not held in a relevant filing system. I did check
with Ico and they agreed.
I hope this helps,
Doreen

Are there any DP implications regading audio recording what was said at
a public council meeting without the person's consent or knowledge.
