Laudable though the aim is, I certainly hope it does not survive in its
current form, which is very hard to square with disclosures based on
most of the conditions in Schedule 2

If I wasn't being cynical I'd say that given recent events the House
wouldn't have the gall to have the amendment removed however as this is
politics since when have our elected representatives actually let little
things like losing 25m records get in the way of things?

The House of Lords has passed - by four votes - an amendment to the
Criminal Justice and Immigration Bill making it an offence to
"intentionally or recklessly" disclose data or "repeatedly and
negligently" allow it to be disclosed. But will it stay in when the
Bill goes to the Commons?
